HL "Companion" labels and Friends

Eeyore was one of the Lamb's favorite dogs, a loving and loyal black Lab who grew up with the Lamb children and followed the family as they developed their hillside property and moved permanently to the vineyard site. Several years later, a Golden Retriever puppy, who became Eeyore the Second, or E Two, joined the family and the "Companion" label E II was born.
The E II "Companion" label was born in 2001, as a home for the barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate vineyard that did not fit into the premium HL Vineyards program. Eventually, an E II Sauvignon Blanc was added, and ten years later with the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc and 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, both labels morphed into the Two Old Dogs® labels.
Since E II's passing, the Lamb's have added two more black Labs, matronly Maggie and neurotic ("throw the ball!") Camo. The natural progression of wine labels has now become Two Old Dogs®, (including Herb into the mix if you use your imagination). The Lambs have always had an orange tabby cat, the color of Herb's first cat as a child, and that tradition continues at the vineyard today with mouser Chloe.

The Two Old Dogs® labels are an expression of everyday drinking "Companion" wines to our signature HL Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Two Old Dogs® Cabernet Sauvignon is a picked from specific rows of the Herb Lamb Vineyard, and is produced each year based on the best barrel selection of those rows. This Cabernet Sauvignon is meant to be a more approachable representation of what our hillside vineyard can produce.
The Two Old Dogs® Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of 3 clones, one of which is Sauvignon Musque, from the Mello Vineyard in Yountville. It is a California style with lots of rich fruit and balanced crispness - a great sipping wine for warm afternoons and a wonderful accompaniment to any meal.
